The landscape of dramatic ranges, plunging waterfalls and striking gorges is what The Kimberley is all about. Still considered one of the last wilderness 4WD outback journeys, it is for everyone wishing to experience this region’s amazing terrain.

Day 1 – Broome to Bell Gorge, 430kms, 5.75hrs

Depart early and travel towards Fitzroy Crossing, along the Great Northern Highway, to the Gibb River Road turn-off. Spend time exploring amazing Tunnel Creek, a 750 metre tunnel which runs right through the Napier Range. Travel onto scenic Windjana Gorge for a spectacular walk through the gorge, then travel onto Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge.

Overnight: Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge – Tented Safari Cabin (Dinner & breakfast)

Day 2 – Bell Gorge

Relax and spend the day exploring Bell Gorge, which is considered one of the most spectacular gorges and waterfall in the region. Climb down into the gorge for a refreshing swim.

Overnight: Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge – Tented Safari Cabin (Dinner & breakfast)

Day 3 – Bell Gorge to Mt Elizabeth Station, 145kms, 2hrs

Travel to Mt Elizabeth Station, along the way explore the unique Galvan, Manning and Adcock Gorges. Experience the natural beauty of this unique environment.

Overnight Mt Elizabeth Station – Twin Share Room with shared facilities (Dinner & breakfast)

Day 4 – Mt Elizabeth Station to El Questro, 312kms, 5.25hrs

Continue your drive along the Gibb River Road to El Questro Wilderness Park. Be sure to stop at Ellenbrae Station en-route for their famous scones.

Overnight: El Questro – Emma Gorge – Tented Cabin

Day 5 – El Questro

After a leisurely morning, spend the remainder of the day exploring the beautiful Emma Gorge. The walk to Emma Gorge is for the sure footed but definitely worth the effort once you are swimming in the stunning water hole.

Overnight: El Questro – Emma Gorge – Tented Cabin

Day 6 – El Questro

Go barramundi fishing, take a horse trek, cruise on the Chamberlain Gorge or visit Zebedee Springs; take in all El Questro Wilderness Park has to offer.

Overnight: El Questro – Emma Gorge – Tented Cabin

Day 7 – El Questro to Kununurra, 79kms, 1hr

Depart El Questro and travel the short distance to Kununurra for the next 3 nights. This afternoon you may like to take a walk to Kelly’s Knob Lookout for a great view of the town and valley.

Overnight: Kununurra Country Club Resort – King Room

Day 8 – Kununurra

A free day today to explore, visit to the Hoochery Rum Distillery or the Sandalwood Factory. The local Kununurra market is held on Saturday mornings.

Day 9 – Kununurra

Maybe join a guided tour of Lake Argyle and the Ord River – this includes a ground tour of the lake, a visit to the historic Durack Family Argyle Downs Homestead Museum, returning via a 55km boat cruise along the mighty Ord River to Kununurra.

Overnight: Kununurra Country Club Resort – King Room

Day 10 – Kununurra to Purnululu National Park, 338kms, 5hrs

Back on the road again to travel to the World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park. There is approximately 53kms of unsealed road (4WD access only)  once you reach the turn off. The Bungle Bungle Range is renowned for its striking sandstone domes, striped with orange and grey bands.

Day 11 – Purnululu National Park

Explore Piccaninny Gorge, Cathedral Gorge, Echidna Chasm and more. Optional Helicopter flights are available over the Bungles giving you an amazing panoramic view into their sheer size.

Overnight: Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge – Tented Safari Cabin (Dinner & breakfast)

Day 12 – Purnululu National Park to Fitzroy Crossing, 482kms, 6.25hrs

Take the unsealed road out of Purnululu before driving the 100kms of sealed highway to Halls Creek, the site of the first gold rush in Western Australia. Explore Old Halls Creek town site and China Wall, before completing the day’s journey to Fitzroy Crossing, home of Geikie Gorge.

Overnight: Fitzroy River Lodge – Motel Room

Day 13 – Fitzroy Crossing to Broome, 396kms, 4.5hrs

Today you complete your 396km journey back to Broome. Stop at Geikie Gorge National Park and take a 1 or 2 hour cruise on Geikie Gorge or walk one of the many trails. Journey back to Broome with time to reflect on all your wonderful 4WD holiday experiences.

Rates per person twin share based on 12 night package

Inclusions: Large 4WD hire with unlimited kms. Rate is PLS inclusive & hire based on 24 hour periods. Twin share accommodation with meals as shown & El Questro Wilderness Park Passes.
